Sucker Tube
« on: April 09, 2019, 11:45:14 AM »
Hello everyone,

I attempted to build my first sucker tube. This did not go so well. I am having issues with the check valves. My goal here is to have a decent size sucker tube to feed a sluice. I am talking like a 2 inch nozzle. I used two check valves so I could push the paydirt to the sluice but the type of check valves I used are not working out. I am getting good suction but any little sand or gravels that get caught in it requires disablement to clean out. It happens so many times that it would not logical to use.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what type of valve to use, the two I have are foot valves basically.

I have a 2" sucker tube that needs some minor repair. Can bring it to the April meeting if you want to see it. Not sure how much I want for it yet. It has a custom handle and worked good for many years. I have to find it in storage.

You can purchase the check valves from "Red" at his web page.
