Historical Document on Georgia Gold Mines
« on: May 23, 2012, 10:20:46 PM »
The North Georgia area was the scene of significant gold mining activity from the 1820s through the 1930s. Unlike Tennessee, which had very little significant gold mining (from a commercial standpoint), the North Georgia area was the site of some very successful gold mines and prospects and quite a bit of documentation exists from that time period indicating the locations, types, and assays of the various mines.

I encourage you to download this document and study it as a guide and aid in understanding the gold mines and gold mining in this area. It has proven quite valuable to me over the years.
