North River

Land Status: Public; Cherokee National Forest, Tellico Ranger District, Monroe County, Tennessee

North River is a tributary of Tellico River.

GPS Coordinates: - 35.32850, - 84.14575

Access:
From Tellico Plains follow 165 (Cherohala Skyway) for several miles and split off onto FR 210 (River Road). Follow 210 for several miles and turn left onto 217. There are several access points along the road.

Regulations: No Dredging is allowed. Sluicing and panning are allowed with a permit.

Where and how to find the gold:  I have only tried this location twice for a couple of hours and the gold was only a few specks. The water was kind of high so I couldn't access the better spots. I have had others tell me of finding some gold here as well so I suspect that it would be worth investigating further. It is a very pretty small river and has good scenery.

MORE REPORTS NEEDED. If anyone has any additional info on this creek let me know.
