Coker Creek Lease at Roostin' Ridge
« on: August 21, 2017, 02:10:30 PM »
I have had it confirmed by the buyer of the Current GPAA leased property at Coker Creek that he does not intend to continue the GPAA Lease on the property.  He restated that he did not want to buy the property for commercial purposes, and does not want to run a campground.  He will be putting up a Private Property sign, at the very least.

He has asked that the Chapter have their items off the property within a month.

He has also asked to remove the property from the GPAA Publications as it will no longer be open to the public.

I am continuing to work with the Chapter Officers to acquire new property for prospecting and had hoped it would be available prior to losing the current lease but that does not appear to be the case.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.

For those of you that see this as a major blow let me say this. I have been around long enough to see another property go. I always heard we wouldn't survive the loss of that property. We did. And we grew bigger, better, and stronger in the process.

Through the years of growth we have made new friends and inroads into the community. We have made a positive name for ourselves. Progress has been good thanks to the hard work of the group.

Be patient and work together and I promise we will find another property. We are NOT going to sit on our hands. We are at this moment looking into other avenues to pursue. Time will tell. Patience will be necessary.

Thanks to all of you for your work and commitment to this group.

Lets make sure an Inventory List is kept of Club items, so nothing gets LOST.

There are 4 panning tubs, one BBQ and 2 tables. I am not sure if there is anything else left on the property.
I will ask Freddy to check.

Tommy,
The Chapter has a thorough inventory.  As Chuck points out, there isn't much left on the property except for only the largest equipment, and a couple of signs.  I'm sure the chapter would be happy to accept your help in the move which I understand is tentatively scheduled following the next meeting.

Every Saturday the Team I am on Cooks and FEEDS up to 400 Homeless people around Chattanooga. We do this Rain, Sun, Sleeet, or Snow. Kind of like a mailman. We all do this as a Ministry.

I would gladly help if not for the prior commitment

Tom,

I think we have it covered. There is not that much stuff anyway.

The move is scheduled for after the Sept meeting. We only need a few helpers. We already have more than enough Volunteers, thanks! Everything should fit in the back of my truck for 2 short trips.
