Old Furnace Road
« on: January 21, 2015, 01:27:38 PM »
Does anyone know if Old Furnace Road is open from Tellico Beach on 165 to Long Ridge Baptist Church on 68. It was closed last year at this time because of road conditions. It's my only access to Wildcat.

I haven't been there lately myself. Hopefully someone else has.

The gates on Old Furnace road are closed. Forest roads are pretty muddy and slick right now. I would not recommend lower coker unless you have 4 wheel drive and good mud tires. Didn't get to check everywhere, finally ended up at Doc Rogers. Water is down to normal right now.

I do not want this story to be forgotten. I think it's very necessary.

I did not think we could go to Doc Rogers any more just Wild Cat creek and Lyons creek in the FS rules.
