Potential Treasure Valley Outing
« on: August 27, 2015, 08:58:42 PM »
We have an opportunity to do an outing at Treasure Valley in North Carolina soon (the same location we have been to several times before). Potential weekends include the last weekend of September, or the first two weekends of October. Anyone interested let me know what your preference is. It will be a lump sum fee as before, and I will be collecting deposits ahead of time.

I am interested in going, would this be a detector trip or creek working?? Never been over there, but I am in, if you go.

Tom,

It's the same place we have been before (Richard's place). The cost is the same also, $750 for a group of up to 15 miners.

All types of prospecting are ok on this property. Gems can be found in the creek. Dredging is ok. We found good gold the last time we went. You can camp near the creek.

At this point the options have been reduced. The first weekend of October or the 4th weekend of October. The last weekend of September won't work for the property owner and the 2nd weekend of October doesn't work for me.

The group rate is $750 for the weekend. Divide that by the number of attendees. If everyone will bring $75 I will refund the difference if we have more than 10. If it is less than 10 people I will have to try something different.

FYI, I pay the same as everyone else and make no money for the outing.

Count me in Al.  Haven't been in the water past my ankles this year!  I may ride with Bryon, not sure.  Do you know if driveway conditions are still slippery when wet?  I'll bring money to the meeting if that's ok. Thanks...Jeff

Money at the meeting will be fine. It has been very dry over there so road conditions should be good.

Several have asked about arrival on Friday. Here is the deal; If you come after 4:00 pm you are covered, If you want to show up earlier it will be an additional $25 for the day, payable directly to the property owner (Richard). You will need to make arrangements with him for this.

Also he has a Honcoop highbanker and a Keene 2 1/2" Dredge/Highbanker combo that he will rent for $25 per day each. If anybody is interested let me know.

Hey Big Al, is the outing to Treasure Valley still in the works?
If not please post ASAP so I will make other plans to go to one of the pay to play prospecting places in the same area.
I am in Florida right now and still plan to do some kind of outing on the 24th 25th weekend, and would really like our club group to be on the Treasure Valley outing. If we don't  make, it what place in NC do you suggest to go? Maybe some of us will still get together.
