Places to prospect? New Permit?
« on: January 29, 2016, 11:44:06 AM »
So what creek and rivers are still open to prospecting?  I see wildcat and lyons creek.   What about little river? Lower Coker creek I see off limits but doesn't it have a wetted with of 20ft in some area.  This whole thing is confusing.

Many streams that run across private land are " open" but require permission from the land owner.  The Forest Service has restricted prospecting in streams within its control.  As far as I can tell, those streams outside the forest ( and park) are generally open to class 1 prospecting.  But again, require permission on private land which is often the hold up.
