Property Improvements
« on: February 20, 2016, 09:18:32 PM »
As discussed at the meeting we are looking at adding a bathhouse/restroom to replace the existing facilities. There is some discussion as to whether this size will meet our needs. It is certainly an improvement to what we have now. We are opening this up for Chapter comments, critique to help us make a decision on how to proceed. Obviously an increase in size will mean an increase in cost. After deciding on a design we will discuss how to raise the money.

I will be preparing a preliminary budget over the next week and present it to the board when I am done. For the moment I have placed myself in charge of the design and working drawings.

I have more drawings but the file size is too large. I will try to put them up somewhere else and provide a link.

Who is going to mow and take care of the property this year? I am bringing all the equipment I bought home wit me. I don't think fred will be there either. I am as well as a couple others are tired of push mowing all this grass. People say they will help but no one every shows. So some new equipment will. Be needed to keep the grounds clean.

I believe this should be a shared cost with the property owner. the club needs the toilet facilities but certainly the Shower portion benefits the Campers who Jimmy collects from. Unless the Club will get to tack on a fee to cover this.

It never has made sense to me we "Lease" the property but Jimmy collects / gets all the Camping fees.

AL, download BULLZIP program, print them thru it and you can reduce the size of the file by as much as 70 percent.

Actually,  Because we have a unique property among GPAA Chapters (most have NO facilities in some cases except port-a-potties) there is a clause in the lease that addresses rental fee's specifically.

Say Al, that is one fine looking "John".
"Go big or not at all!"  ;)

Thanks for your time and efforts in creating this drawing.
Does your software calculate the estimated cost of materials?
Any thoughts as to where this facility will be built, so high water won't damage the structure?
I guess the state and county code will make that decision.

Again, very nice work, Al

P.S.
You might wants to install a larger exhaust fan.  ::)

Had to edit this in as well.
Al made a video on "Meat Candy" Oh, Man that looks good!

I have prepared a budget and presented it to the board. The materials take into account the floodplain in that everything from ground level to 40" up is concrete or masonry. I think making the windows operable will take care of any smell you can throw at it, lol!

Meat Candy Video. Note the name "MeatSmokerAl". It just may stick. haha.
