New State Director Program - 2017
« on: June 10, 2017, 08:28:43 AM »
In Tennessee, we will be modifying this slightly to meet our specific needs.  The modifications we will be making are that we will have more than one liaison for those positions where the tasks might require significant travel, or regional knowledge.  For example,  The Claims Liaison will be split between regions, with one serving as the Key Claims liaison for GPAA Purposes.

Below is the outline for the new State Director Program.

State Director Program

The program will feature a position of State Director as the lead in a region. The State Director will select volunteers to serve in positions in his/her region. The State Director will ultimately be responsible for the regular reporting to the Director of Chapters concerning the activities of each liaison. These positions will include:

Communications Liaison
Works with chapters in the state to get outing and event schedules.
Makes sure that scheduled events are posted on chapter sites, social media, and in publications.
Solicits articles from chapters for publications.

Membership Liaison
Works with authorized dealers and chapters to build working relationships that will benefit both the dealers and chapters.
Identifies potential new dealers in the area of chapters.
Promoted all membership types to chapters and their members, and the incentives that are offered to chapters for membership sales.

Claims Liaison (Multiple openings)
Works with Chapters to see that the online mining guide is being populated with the proper information.
Works with Landowners and Claim holders to establish new relationships and identify new properties for our members to utilize
See that the new potential properties are properly tested and reports are provided to the Director of Chapters and to the GPAA claims department.
Community Outreach Liaison
Works with chapters on community service projects that are outside of normal GPAA activities.
Ensures that any community service projects are promoted and reported through the GPAA and outside resources.

Outings & Events Liaison
Works with Chapters to assist them in scheduling Outings and ensuring that the State Director and Communications Liaison has a complete schedule of outings and events for the chapters in the state.
Coordinate, plan and execute an annual state wide outing
Coordinate, Plan and execute Annual State Chapters Summit in the state or region they are part of.
Assist the Director of Chapters in coordination of volunteers for GPAA Gold and Treasure Shows if held in the state.

Government Agency Liaison
Establishes and maintains good working relationships with state agencies that directly impact prospecting activities in that state, such as the state Department of Environmental Quality and the state Department of Natural Resources.

If you have any questions about the State Director Program, or is you know anyone who would be a good candidate for one of the positions serving with the State Director, please feel free to contact me , Richard Robinson, Director of Chapters, GPAA, directly at 615-587-3397 or at

So far folks have express interest in only two of the positions, State Agency Liaison, and Membership Liaison.  I need these folks in place quickly.  Is Anyone interested in the other positions?
