I've always been told our gold is sometimes pure 24k gold just like Northern Georgia. My guess is in the range of 22-24k, and sometimes nuggets and pickers being significantly less due to quartz and other minerals being combined with the gold.

Even after refining, gold will normally end up 99.9999999% pure. I have not heard of 24k gold found in the wild.
It is interesting to look at gold from different parts of the World. Even the gold from different US State is different.
The gold I have from Montana looks totally different than the gold I have from Alaska, GA or TN.
