Eclipse filmed from 100ft up
« on: August 28, 2017, 10:23:24 PM »
I filmed this with my Mavic from 100ft above a lake.  I didn't expect so much action on the water when it got dark.  Apparently I should have been fishing.ha

Great shots Digi. Here are a few I took from our yard, 16 miles South of Coker Creek.
Camera: Nikon D2X. 400mm zoom lens. No filter and I hand held it.
I thought about using my Mavic, but could not tilt it up that high.

Great shots. None of the ones I took on my phone turned out. :( That one photo was timed just right to see the diamond ring effect. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome shots Chuck.  I got a pretty good one on my wife's camera, but the wiggle in the stars around it let me know I had the exposure a little too long since I was just handing it.  I'll have about 7 more years to correct my mistakes.lol

Man, that Mavic.  Unreal, I thought it would be good and fun, but I had no idea how cool it would actually be.  I can't wait until about 2 months from now when the constant dad taxi duty lets up a bit so I can go take some cool videos with it.  What do you usually run yours on.  4k, 1080 60fps, 1080 96fps?
